Silverado Sanctuary

When our clients’ Napa retreat was lost to the 2017 fires, they decided to rebuild with a more fire-resistant landscape. Oxbow helped realize this vision by starting with a full clean-up and demolition where needed from the fire damage throughout the landscape, followed by installing gravel paving, timber steps and landscape lighting.

The new hardscape and the architecture are seamless, with board-formed concrete retaining walls, geometric cut stone veneer and limestone paving. Luckily a few key oaks survived, and Oxbow had the opportunity to install firewise plantings in celebration around them. The pool starts at the entertainment terrace, while the surrounding land was carefully graded in a gentle slope to meet the property line and surrounding redwoods.
