Rich Robinson, Senior Horticulturist

Rich brings more than four decades of experience in horticulture, plant science, and field operations to the team. For him, horticulture is a calling — work that feels purposeful and continually inspiring.

At Oxbow, Rich applies his extensive knowledge of horticulture and ecology to plant sourcing and placement. He stays current on best practices in plant health, soil hydrology, and pathology, ensuring each landscape is thoughtfully built and maintained for long-term vigor. Through close observation of the natural world, he identifies plant communities and patterns that inform designs which support ecological function and natural beauty.

Rich holds degrees in horticulture and Spanish, as well as a bachelor’s degree in business psychology.

Outside of work, he pursues a wide range of interests, including advanced horticultural study, anthropological psychology, landscape painting, design, nature photography, dance, and travel.
