Paul Thelander, Head of Landscape Maintenance

As the Head of Landscape Maintenance for Oxbow, Paul manages the maintenance crews and works directly with property owners. Typical days include site walks with clients and crews, identifying priorities for overall beautification and plant health, then coordinating with construction and team members to get urgent needs addressed in a timely manner. He provides direction, teaching and needed material for the tasks our crews address throughout. Keeping an eye on sustainability, he checks irrigation and makes the necessary adjustments for proper water conservation and plant health.

Paul is proud of meeting client needs in a timely manner and establishing strong relationships with the team that he gets the honor of being a part of. Learning something new every day reminds him of his favorite quote “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” – Romans 12:12.

Paul has a B.S. in Agricultural and Environmental Plant Management focused on Sustainable Landscape Management from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He has a Qualified Applicators License for herbicide and pesticide management, and is certified as a California Landscape Contractors Association Certified Water Manager, Bay-Friendly Qualified Landscape Professional and Certified Landscape Technician.

Outside of work, Paul enjoys playing golf, small woodworking and enjoying time with family, his wife Emily and their dog, Laney.
