Nathan Tinkess, Project Manager

Nathan Tinkess is a junior project manager at Oxbow, where he brings his passion for project progression and his love for being part of a team to every day. A typical day for Nathan involves reading plans, meeting with clients, and moving projects forward. His favorite part of working at Oxbow is practicing Spanish with the field crews and continuing to grow personally and professionally.

Before joining Oxbow in May 2024, Nathan earned a degree in plant sciences from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and worked at several organizations in the horticulture industry. After spending five months working alongside Oxbow’s field crews, Nathan transitioned into his current role focusing on project management. Nathan’s favorite quote, spoken by Gandalf from J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, is: "All that is gold does not glitter. Not all those who wander are lost.”

When he’s not managing projects, Nathan explores California’s mountains, deserts, forests, and coastline — often on foot, in a kayak, or on a bike. He also enjoys gardening, whittling, and climbing. Nathan values his relationship with his sister, and their shared love for their parents' cat, Alani.
