Healdsburg Family Gatherings

Our clients came to landscape architects Lucas & Lucas with the desire to have more space for family gatherings in the garden of their comfortable family home. The existing pool cut off access to their backyard from the main residence, so the pool was moved to the center of the yard. The new layout allowed for a 12’ wide deck, and gathering places at each end of the pool. Shade is provided by a trellis and shade cloth on the deck, a permanently-installed Tucci umbrella, and from existing crepe myrtles. A fire pit area was tucked into an additional notch of space by the guest house, where veggie beds also take advantage of the sun with easy access from the back path.
